Chhindwara is known as Corn City. Corn is grown in entire district due to presence of suitable soil and climate needed for corn to grow. Corn grown is exported to other districts also. In September 2018, Corn Festival, a two day event was held in district. The festival was a 2 day event where companies excelling in corn based products from Food Industry, Textile, Pharmaceuticals, Starch, Glucose, Sweeteners, Bio-plastics, Animal feed, Seeds, Fertilizers & Pesticides, Agricultural implements etc showcased their products and interacted with other stakeholders.
